Our client, a manufacturer of turbojet engines, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that all suppliers meet stringent quality standards and contribute to the overall success of clients' products. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Conduct audits and assessments of potential suppliers to evaluate their capabilities, processes, and quality systems.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance plans for suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track supplier performance metrics, analyze data, and report on quality issues, trends, and corrective actions.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality-related issues and facilitate root cause analysis to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
- Supplier Development: Lead initiatives to improve supplier quality performance through training, workshops, and collaborative projects.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of supplier quality processes, including audits, inspections, and quality reports.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that suppliers adhere to all relevant regulatory and safety requirements within the aerospace industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and standards, particularly related to turbojet engines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in quality (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and materials used in jet engine production.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics within the aerospace sector.
