The SQE core responsibilities will be communicating with suppliers, validating concerns, root cause analysis, resolving product/paperwork holds, conducting audits & analyzing data for metrics.
Main Responsibilities:
Analyze & validate the reported internal supplier issues.
Determine cause & responsibility by reviewing drawings or specifications & measuring parts.
Notify suppliers, initiate containment, update internal systems & generate/ follow up on corrective actions.
Supplier management skills to improve OTD and quality performance.
Drill down onto root causes and help suppliers with process reliability/improvements.
Perform virtual & onsite supplier audits as needed.
Address products' paperwork issues with suppliers & maintain the systems.
Maintain & generate reports/charts for metrics utilizing data mining from various support systems.
Accuracy, attention to details & appropriate turnaround time in all internal & external communication.
Experience in advancing a Zero-Defect culture utilizing advanced Quality tools such as statistical analysis, PFMEA,8D corrective acti on, A3 problem solving, 5 why analysis, Ishikawa diagrams and other six sigma tools.
Ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects.
Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
This position may require 30% travel.
Must Have Requirements:
Experience in fabricate mechanical products, Aluminum magnesium casting foundry etc.
Interpret blueprints, specifications & work instructions.
Hands-on expertise in measurement methods & tools.
Data analysis & mining – Pivot charts.
Root cause analysis / problem solving.
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Supplier quality audit experience.
US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
Preferred Requirements:
At least 5 years' experience in demonstrated process improvement success; proven accomplishments utilizing Lean tools/methodologies; Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability tools required to drive the continuous improvement culture into the organization.
5+ years' experience as a Quality Engineer in Aerospace.
M.S. or B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related job experience.
APQP/PPAP background is strongly preferred but not required.
Net-Inspect experience is strongly preferred but not required.
