Wenger Corporation is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Owatonna, MN. As a Quality Engineer you will contribute to Wenger Corporation's strategy to provide an exceptional customer experience by providing technical support in quality engineering around part inspection and metrology, control of non-conforming material, resolution of quality issues, and product team support.
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Technical degree in related areas (quality assurance, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with data entry, metrics and report generation
- Knowledge of or ability to learn business planning software (Epicor)
- Knowledge of and skills in the use of inspection/measurement/test equipment and process auditing
- Demonstrated excellent blueprint reading skills
- Strong numbers and measurement aptitude with a math/statistical background
It'd be great if you also have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
- One to three (1-3) years of quality assurance or related manufacturing experience.
What you will do on a typical day:
- Perform production support, data collection, statistical analysis and metric reporting.
- Perform operations support for warranty, customer complaints and
- Perform part inspections, creates and maintains inspection reports, data collection and report generation.
- Represent the Quality Assurance department in Product Development Teams and Quality/Productivity Teams
- Create programs for and operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine.
- Create and maintain DMR information, DMR metrics and cost analysis for MRB reporting.
- Manage the calibration/repair/record maintenance of inspection equipment and other information in quality software.
- Assist with planning and performing internal/external auditing and ISO compliance.
- Initiate and maintain inspection procedures.
- Review ECO's/drawings prior to release and first article measurements.
- Provide coaching guidance and training to other quality functions within the organization.
- Provide training in problem solving, quality, quality inspection, internal auditing, statistics and metrology.
- Recommend new methods to increase efficiency and process improvements.
- Recommend purchase of new equipment.
- Provide backup in the Receiving Department by processing delivery receipts and returned goods.
