We heard you knock!Lead a team of supplier quality engineers, in partnership with operations, to improve supplier quality performance.Drive and support the development and implementation of global sourcing supplier quality vision and strategies throughout the team, providing flexible, responsive, and innovative sourcing support with the ability to identify, analyze, quantify and execute on opportunities to improve product quality, consistency and reduce total cost of goods, increase efficiencies and timelines, and improve product development through both domestic and international partners and support of our Global businesses.Conduct project qualification and audit processes and products from key suppliers. Continues to reduce component non-conformances and lost COPQ by using modern quality tools, statistical tools and lean manufacturing tools.Responsibilities:Lead a team of supplier quality engineers through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.Lead, maintain, and support new supplier and new component qualification (PPAP).Collaborate with Product Engineering to develop qualification test plans for purchased components. Develop and maintain component qualification test plans.Work with the Global Sourcing Team to manage purchased component qualification testing to implement Sourcing PPV projects, include but not limited to,Request test number in MIC SharePointWork with product engineer to identify the proper qualification tests neededIdentify the number of test samples needed for the qualification testRequest testing samples from supplier, record the key production parameters of samplesCoordinate with MIC to conduct testing to test plan requirementsCoordinate/manage Masonite manufacturing plant trial as needed.Handle external/internal customer complaints and claims. Work with supplier to implement corrective actions and verify the implementation.Conduct on-site audits of processes and products as needed to ensure suppliers are adhering to Masonite quality requirements. Identify and drive the quality improvement project to reduce COPQ and defect rates. Identify suppliers' capability and room for improvement. Drive suppliers to make timely, effective improvements that benefit Masonite.Assists or provides component value engineering alternative solutions for competitive advantage. Work in cross functional teams and manage supply chain goals improving value-to-cost relationship by focusing on total cost of ownership, quality, delivery, service and working capital (DPO/inventory).Support a variety of sourcing and procurement projects across the Company, with significant exposure to senior business leaders and their teams.Qualifications:BA/BS required. Focused study in Engineering or Supply Chain a plus.MBA, or master's degree in a related field preferred.7+ years of supplier quality management experience required, preferably in a multinational environment.Knowledge of (or experience within) the lumber/wood industry is highly preferred.2+ years of direct leadership/managerial experienceSignificant experience with conducting capability studies is required.Working experience with measuring tools including calipers and micrometers.Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint skills.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal, written, negotiation and organizational skillsStrong prioritization, planning, reporting and organizational skillsAble and willing to travel up to 50%, both domestic and international, is required.Bilingual capability in English and Mandarin is strongly preferredASQE certification preferredSix Sigma training and /Greenbelt certification a definite plusWe Help People Walk Through WallsWe respect the privacy of candidates for employment.
