ABOUT THIS POSITION
The City of Phoenix Water Services Department, one of the nation's largest potable water utilities, treats and delivers safe, reliable drinking water to 1.5 million customers across approximately 540 square miles. Phoenix Water Services also manages the sewer collection system and treats wastewater for 2.5 million residents in metropolitan Phoenix.
The Water Department is currently seeking a Supplies Clerk II to perform manual and clerical work in regard to the requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, ordering, of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment. Responsibilities include handling supplies, parts, and equipment including pick-up and delivery. Some positions may exercise supervisory duties in the absence of the assigned supervisor.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Checking accuracy of invoice, identification, and inventory of property, supplies, and materials.
* Checking incoming material for quality and quantity against invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, contract order release forms, or other documents.
* Creating and updating inventory records and making a periodic inventory to reconcile physical count with the inventory records.
* Receiving, unpacking, and storing general or specialized goods and supplies.
* Issuing general or specialized goods and supplies.
* Making arithmetical computations to reconcile physical count with inventory records and order requests.
* Inputting and retrieving inventory information using a computer workstation and verifying information on computer-generated documents.
* Ensuring security of supplies, equipment, or materials.
* Checking supplies and equipment, including substitute items, against specifications to determine appropriateness.
* Contacting vendors to obtain price quotes and to place orders.
* Preparing department purchase orders, requisitions, and similar forms.
* Performing routine research and follow-up related to the receipt of and payment for goods and services.
* Maintaining regular and reliable attendance.
* Demonstrating superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.
This position is for the Lake Pleasant Water Treatment Plant Warehouse set to open in July of 2025. The candidate will cross train in all three Water Production Division warehouses in the interim.

SALARY
Pay Range: $18.60 to $28.86 per hour.
Hiring Range: $18.60 to $26.18 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Three years of experience in a warehouse or stores operation where a wide variety of materials, fittings, tools, supplies, and equipment are dispensed.
* Other combinations of education and experience which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

* These positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
* Lead/supervisory experience.
* Experience in/with:
* Purchasing and/or operating automated inventory systems.
* Operating warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
* Using computerized inventory systems.
* SAP/SRM.
* May require:
* Handling various types of equipment.
* Moving objects weighting between 25 to 50 pounds.
* Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
