The Big Picture:
As a Data Analyst, Supply Analytics, you will play a crucial role in enhancing PulsePoint's DSP business by developing and continuously innovating on insightful reporting and data-driven recommendations for our supply-side operations. Your contributions will deepen the understanding of our DSP's supply footprint and uncover actionable insights that drive improvements in supply quality, ultimately elevating advertising outcomes for our clients.
In this role, you should have not only strong analytical skills, but also excellent communication capabilities and a solutions-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate must be able to balance day-to-day responsibilities and long-term strategic projects within a fast-paced environment. They should be a self-starter and comfortable recommending solutions in an ambiguous environment with guidance.
Specifically, here are some things we'll want you to get done:
- Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of PulsePoint DSP's programmatic ad ecosystem, including supply partners and publisher relationships, to provide valuable analysis and insights.
- Conduct thorough analyses of our supply footprint, from bid requests to impressions, including openRTB parameters, to identify emerging trends and spending patterns.
- Leverage advanced analytics tools such as Sincera and Jounce Media to enhance data analysis and derive meaningful insights.
- Develop and execute longitudinal, seasonal, and channel studies to assess PulsePoint's supply footprint.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving ad environment quality and media effectiveness across PulsePoint's supply footprint.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to address inventory management challenges across various buying modalities, including Programmatic Guaranteed, Private Marketplace, Curated Market, and Open Exchange.
- Create demand and supply-facing forecasting models to support strategic direct publisher integrations.
- Automate data visualization and reporting capabilities to empower users (both internal and external) to access data independently, enhancing quality, accuracy, and speed.
- Actionable Insights: Synthesize raw data into actionable insights that drive business results, identify key trends, and present findings in a clear and compelling manner.
- KPI Monitoring: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) from a supply perspective at the DSP level, providing regular updates and actionable recommendations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through dashboards, presentations, and ad-hoc reports.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends and competitive developments to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience working in digital/programmatic advertising experience is required
- 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst
- Hands-on experience working with DSPs, ad exchanges, SSPs, ad servers, and/or other ad tech platforms is required
- Self-starter with the ability to identify new initiatives and priorities for supply access + analysis, and lead a project from start to finish
- Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Experience collaborating across Sales, Account Management, Product, Marketing, Analytics & Finance teams
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience in:
-Creating SQL queries from scratch using real business data
-GCP
-Tableau or Looker
-Stats background
-Highly proficient knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, functions)
-Data analysis & manipulation
-At least a Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence and Analytics or closely related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Python
- Able to organize large data sets to answer critical questions, extrapolate trends, and tell a story
- Familiarity with health-related data sets
- Project Management skills
