OVERVIEW:
Engages prospective suppliers in accordance with specifications, requirements and engineering standards from Saudi Aramco (SAO) to identify, analyze and evaluate new sources of engineered products and services and of chemical, drilling, rotating, static, electrical and instrumentation equipment's and other categories.
SCOPE:
Serves SAO worldwide and Aramco Services Company (ASC) and subsidiaries in North America.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
* Identifies new sources of engineered materials and services and/or pursues given potential sources for materials and services required by SAO. (~10%)
* Advises Supplier Relations to conduct full due diligence and compliance checks on potential suppliers.
* Prepares sourcing packages, which include technical specifications, financial reports, and financial assessments of the prospective suppliers. (~10%)
* Liaises with ASC technical and procurement and logistics teams, and prospective suppliers to receive or provide additional data or clarifications. (~10%)
* Conducts initial sourcing package assessment of product and/or service and manufacturing quality programs to ensure compliance with SAO standards, market intelligence, benchmarks, and sourcing requirements. Conducts market intelligence studies and/or benchmarking exercise. (~20%)
* Evaluates product/service performance data and indices, and aligns products to sourcing lists and ad- hoc requests. (~10%)
* Coordinates/consults with Engineering to ensure that new manufacturer's specifications meet company SAMSS and SAES standards. Coordinates meetings with suppliers and facilitates supplier technical and quality audits and provides explanation of company requirements. (~10%)
* Reviews and coordinates evaluation schedules with the RSA and plant managers to ensure that manufacturing or materials distribution suppliers have all required documentation to meet ISO, API, IEE, ANSI, ASTM certification standards.
* Supports supplier localization efforts in Saudi Arabia by promoting various local programs such as the In-Kingdom Total value Add (IKTVA) program, and works with ASC Public Relations, Law, SAO IKTVA teams and SAO proponents to prepare and participate in supplier events.
* Issues and tracks workflows in SAP to initiate technical and quality assessments for suppliers. (~10%).
* Develops and maintains appropriate databases.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain or Materials Management, Business Administration or similar is preferred.
* At least one certification below is preferred:
* Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS, with equivalent certifications from the ISM, APICS or CIPS acceptable.
* Working knowledge of economics, technology and accounting.
* Knows how and when to use a wide variety of statistical and financial analytical tools.
* Proficient with business software applications.
* Typically, at least four (4) years of directly related work experience in sourcing with demonstrated manufacturer quality experience and/or technical buying experience in a product development environment. Sourcing experience working with or building supply chains is preferred.
* SAP experience preferred.
* Must be able to comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly and concisely in English.
