Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Manager Purchasing Operations the Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for supporting system-wide projects with accurate data and robust analyses. They will integrate an understanding of project goals with analytic expertise to assure and facilitate accurate data analysis. The Analyst will consult with Supply Chain users in the design development and implementation of analysis techniques and data mining and serve as a subject matter expert on data mining within PeopleSoft and all other third-party systems used.
Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to collect analyze and summarize Supply Chain data and convert them into relevant information to management.
Maintains quality assurance and practice standards in accordance with established system policies procedures and objectives.Recognizes or anticipates problems and refers them immediately to the appropriate person for resolution if needed.
Provides Supply Chain systems support to end users across Brown University Health.
Responsible to maintain item master tables and EDI tables
Works with end users management and leadership team to report availability and optimal velocity of items.
Analyzes inventory material flow and system demand makes appropriate suggestions to Supply Chain Leadership
Assists in projects and operational improvements within Supply Chain (par optimization warehouse reconfiguration end to end implementation and maintenance). Lead and participate with appropriate parties to achieve various Supply Chain and Brown University Health goals.
Works with IS and other departments to support enhancement of Supply Chain systems in order to transmit item information to other systems and enable product utilization and tracking.
Builds and presents trending reporting to address ongoing data inconsistencies and performs data clean up as necessary.
Research process and ensure that all Product/Equipment Recalls and Notifications are sent to the affected departments and a response is obtained. Ensures required record keeping is accurately maintained and easily retrievable.
Creates financial analysis utilizing information from the Brown University Health system that will help reduce duplicate system ordering.
Gathers spend and utilization related to supply/service data from various resources to support sourcing opportunities.
Monitors and proposes corrective action for all Supply Chain systems to minimize end-user errors.
Uploads and maintains pricing accuracy on contracted items within the contract management system. Reviews exceptions and works with sourcing analysts to determine root cause.
Effectively and continually communicates with staff management internal customers and vendors to facilitate the flow of information.
Provides timely and accurate communication both written and verbal as appropriate regarding fulfillment of Purchase Orders supplier performance on automated transactions inaccuracies between Purchase Orders and invoices according to Department goals and objectives.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and total quality management initiatives. Participates in committees task forces and performance improvements teams as assigned.
Provides functional guidance and training to new employees regarding supply chain operations.
Performs other duties as required.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Associates degree or greater than 3 years relevant work experience.
The ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of most daily duties.
A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively represent Brown University Health and Supply Chain in interaction with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
EXPERIENCE:
Strong Analytical Skills
Minimum of three years related experience in data management systems including experience with hardware and software interfaces to maintain operations
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP Pivot)
Microsoft Access (database maintenance reporting)
Progressive understanding of Supply Chain Operations
Strong communication and reporting skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively orient and train current data analysts regarding reporting systems and related information requirements and service needs.
Project management skills including facilitation prioritization and resource management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Normal office environment with some walking to other areas to investigate and resolve problems and provide system training and the like. May experience some visual fatigue associated with extended periods of time at a computer terminal.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Functions independently within broad scope of department policies and procedures; refers specific problems to Supply Chain leadership only where clarification or exception may be required.
