Position Summary:
This position is for a Supply Chain and Logistic manager located in Rochester, MN. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. The Supply Chain and Logistics Manager will direct overall supply chain and logistics operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform supply chain and logistics operations for biopharmaceutical industry including:
- Act as point person in supply chain and logistics departmental sub-function within the broader Technical Operations department function
- Create strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
- Escalating supply chain and logistics issues related to personnel, safety, procedures, materials, process, equipment, automation, utilities, and/or information systems to appropriate functional area(s).
- Routine inventory monitoring (cycle counting) and updating inventory tracker.
- Routinely participating in new procedure planning and implements them into the Supply Chain and logistics area.
- Develops and implements a strategy to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals.
- Routinely negotiates with vendors to obtain optimal contracts and pricing.
- Utilize data monitoring and analytics to evaluate past performance and trends and forecast inventory and distribution requirements.
Basic Requirements:
- A four-year undergraduate degree in business or a related field is a minimum requirement, along with minimum of eight years of supply chain management experience in a healthcare related setting. Must have product and market knowledge.
- Detail oriented and self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently/autonomously, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
Preferred requirements:
- Broad supply chain and logistics experience, contracting and negotiation experience, including knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply contract law, skill at developing a negotiation strategy and leading a negotiation team, experience facilitating cross-site, cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams, experience with business data analysis and supply strategy development.
- Proficiency with data analytics (databases, MS Excel, and presentations) and MS Office.
- Knowledge and experience of working with Pharmaceutical Quality Management System.
- Experience in progressively responsible project or initiative leadership positions in supply chain management.
- Work experience implementing new integrated systems (e.g. ERP).
