Supply Chain Co-opThe Supply Chain Co-op will support the development and implementation of the improved sourcing strategies for the Supply Chain team. These projects will focus on improving the sustainability of the Nidec Minster operating model through cost reductions throughout the supply base. The selected candidate will be expected to lead a specific sourcing project in support of this initiative and will be provided the opportunity to learn more about the metal forming business and supply chain required to support its operations.Job Responsibilities: Performs assigned tasks in various functional areas to learn about the metal forming and automation industry and business operations.Sends out RFQ's (Request For Quote) to Suppliers and tracks the quotes coming back in from suppliers.Analyzes data and/or potential issues and makes recommendations for potential solutions to management.Contributes to departmental goals and identifies improvement growth opportunities while participating in activities in functional areas such as Operations, Finance, Accounting, Maintenance, Sales or Administration.Performs analysis of data, information and research.Identifies and communicates potential issues related to assigned work.Executes and completes specific tasks and project deliverables identified by functional managers within the co-op term. Creates documents and correspondence pertaining to project deliverables.Performs other job duties as assigned or apparent. Qualifications: Enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor's degree College Program studying Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.Availability to work a minimum 20-25 hours per week. Opportunity to work more as class schedule allows.Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher (Will be required to provide current transcripts).Ability to write, create, and assemble reports and correspondence.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Ability to work with multiple departments to help achieve goals and objectives.
