A BRIEF OVERVIEWAs a key member of the leadership team, the Supply Chain Manager will oversee Orchid's end-to-end supply chain operations, from demand and capacity planning to inventory and scheduling. This role is responsible for managing production schedules, warehouse and shipping activities, and customer order management, ensuring timely delivery and smooth logistics. The Supply Chain Manager will lead a team, track production metrics, and communicate effectively with both suppliers and customers. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping strategies and executing detailed processes to optimize our supply chain and support our business goals. After training, this role has a potential for remote work once a week.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversee scheduling/planning, buying, shipping and receiving departments, managing direct reports.
  • Develop and manage detailed manufacturing, receiving and shipping plans to support customer orders.
  • Open and release manufacturing job orders, expedite as needed and maintain due dates for open shop orders.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the supply chain process and improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance.
  • Lead site-level supply planning and execution to deliver on organizational and customer commitments while owning and managing the site-level S&OP process.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including purchasing, production, logistics and sales teams, to ensure seamless coordination and communication across the supply chain.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate supply chain performance, identify areas of improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce carrying costs while ensuring timely availability of materials and products.
  • Manage physical inventory, cycle counts and shipping/receiving processes and results.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to supply chain members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Be the key liaison between the Supply Chain/Operations and IT for any system issue escalation and system enhancement planning and deployment.
  • Establish and optimize the use of M2M (may assist with others e.g. Syteline) functionality for Planning, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Demand Management, Order Management, Inventory Management and other Supply Chain functions.
  • Act as subject matter expert/user support for ERP functionality as it relates directly or indirectly to Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
  • Establish optimal inventory levels achieved necessary for targeted service levels.
  • Develop standards of operation to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with aggressive inventory plans and projects to achieve targets.
  • Establish and oversee the master scheduling process at the individual site location.
  • Ensure consistent and visible production expectations that meet the long-term supply plans.
  • Develop methodology and assist site Production Planners with systematic management of work orders and shop floor schedules.
  • Coordinate the use of M2M to maintain capacity models (primarily inside ERP) for production and supply chains at the manufacturing site.
  • Collaborate with individual sites to establish and maintain long-term supply plans using systematic planning tools.
  • Maximize the implementation of system-based analytics and reporting.
  • Generate performance metrics for Operations to monitor and control production activities.
  • Ensure master data integrity in key systems through process monitoring and control.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with management and workforces across multiple locations.
  • Communicate complex issues and solutions to multiple audiences including executive management, production management and subject matter experts.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor (Required)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning and Material Requirements Planning Systems (Required)
  • 6+ Years of Experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Sourcing (Required)
  • 4+ Years of experience leading projects, supply chain development, and applying technical business acumen for understanding key levers for efficient supply and inventory management (Preferred)
  • Experience with ERP System Implementation (Preferred)
