Job Description

Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for the Valagro Manufacturing team in Orangeburg, SC.

This role is a key member for a new chemical manufacturing site located in Orangeburg, South Carolina and will ensures the effective and efficient management of local supply chain operations, including procurement, planning, and logistics. The aim is to maintain high service levels while optimizing purchases, transportation, and inventory. You will serve as the crucial link between production and customer service, adhering to both local and group policies and procedures.

This position is based on-site in South Carolina, ideally located in the Orangeburg or Columbia area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accurately register material flows in SAPB1 from the Main Production Plan to Customer Service duties.
  • Process the production plan daily.
  • Coordinate materials handling and preparation efficiently for production.
  • Develop receiving/shipping plans for materials based on production and customer needs.
  • Conduct regular warehouse stock checks to propose actions for reducing slow-moving items.
  • Procure materials efficiently, ensuring alignment with production and demand planning.
  • Forecast purchases and manage supplier orders.
  • Ensure raw material availability according to production plans.
  • Enter data accurately in SAP to ensure correct product costing.
  • Maintain BOM and cycle times for accurate product costing.
  • Ensure traceability of finished goods by batch.
  • Scout, select, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships, including new raw material purchases per Group guidelines.
  • Store supplier documents for raw materials, packaging, and transport for qualification.
  • Update monthly transport costs for customer service to enable reliable quotations.
  • Support customer service as needed to prevent activity interruptions.
  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures, including any required reporting to HQ.

Qualifications Required

  • Masters degree in economics/engineering.
  • Knowledge and skills in supply chain flows and logistics.
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Negotiation and planning abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills.
