Job Purpose:
To manage the day-to-day supply chain business needs supporting the operation and management of imports nationwide. Oversee the proper administration of operational plans designed and implemented for respective sites. Manage customer communications in a timely manner, assist operations as needed, and ensure all customer needs are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement processes to support supply chain needs, including ensuring service to main hubs through proper PO and inventory capacity management.
- Coordinate with operational resources in the supply chain network to maintain strategic and tactical metrics, keeping capacity levels at appropriate WOS/percentages by site.
- Manage supply chain PO impacts to inventory levels, ensuring capacities are not exceeded due to inadequate processing or planning.
- Utilize PO management tools for tracking domestic produce vendors, mixing center shipments, container imports, exports, and domestic shipments.
- Design, create, and implement impact planning for the supply chain network using various systemic tools and metrics.
- Build a world-class supply chain team to meet transportation and warehouse needs.
- Negotiate, maintain communication, and act as a liaison between carriers, vendors, and operations.
- Review PO/SKU records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures, ensuring capacity expectations are met and discrepancies are resolved.
- Trace PO forecasting of items to identify and resolve discrepancies affecting capacity.
- Standardize procedures to improve efficiency within supply chain teams.
- Provide timely updates during shipment lifecycles.
- Assist customers in identifying services that fit their needs and provide information on additional services.
- Source capacity to meet customer needs.
- Work directly with operations to support customer accounts.
- Utilize company resources to ensure service requirements are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, designing and implementing procedures, and resolving problems.
- Monitor and manage the drayage process of shipment movement, including receiving arrival notices, ISF information, creating delivery orders, and ensuring empty container returns.
- Manage relationships with logistics teams and communicate urgently during emergencies.
- Share daily container delivery schedules with drayage carriers.
- Analyze, create, edit, track, and trace imports nationwide.
- Monitor and drive improvement in customer service goals, including on-time delivery and product lead times.
- Report monthly on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for drayage deliveries.
- Check delivery status and communicate with operations and logistics teams.
- Document corrective actions and improvement plans, verifying their effectiveness.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in grocery or cold chain industry fields at a managerial level or higher.
- Experience managing carriers and brokers in the transportation market.
- Experience in cold chain management for both warehouse and transportation.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Previous experience as a Drayage Supervisor (or similar role).
- A direct, empathetic communicator.

- Comfortable with fast-paced growth.

- Lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Sitting at a computer for extended periods.
- Climbing stairs.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a distribution center environment with temperature variations.
- Availability to travel as needed in support of the network nationally without limitations.
