Salary: $3,179.00 Monthly Location : San Antonio, TX Job Type: Full-time Regular Job Number: 2024-01424 Department: District Attorney Division: District Attorney Admin Opening Date: 09/23/2024 Closing Date: 10/7/2024 11:59 PM Central Summary Under supervision, is responsible for the procurement, receiving, storing and issuing of materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure Sheriff's sections are stocked and maintained. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains inventory records of equipment, material, and supplies stored on site
  • Prepares purchase orders for equipment, material, and supplies
  • Receives, inspects, and issues all incoming material and supplies
  • Checks and verifies material received against requisitions, shipping notices or invoices to ensure receipt
  • Coordinates purchases, deliveries and pickups with divisions in BCSO, Purchasing Department and vendors
  • Prepares all in house detention forms; small to medium scale print jobs for various departments; testing materials, training manuals, case files, information sheets, etc. Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of printing and binding tools, implements and equipment
  • Performs related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and three (3) years' experience in an office environment performing administrative functions or in supply, purchasing and inventory control; additional education in a related field may be substituted for experience
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures
  • Skill in the filing and organization of material; skill in utilizing word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office Word and Excel); skill in performing basic mathematical calculations; skill in using copier machine, heavy duty paper cutter, and heavy duty binding compound
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to maintain records, documents and compile and organize reports; ability to communicate with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the general public.
  • Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office
  • Must secure a pre-employment physical
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours in a work week Working Environment and Physical Demands: Working environment is primarily in a jail environment with constant exposure to violent or hostile people Occasional exposure to hazardous materials, unfavorable fumes and odors, wet surfaces and high noise areas Frequently moves items weighing up to 34-50 pounds Occasionally moves items weighing up 100-200 pounds Occasionally moves about the office Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information Generally operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Positions self to perform essential functions Must be able to remain in a stationary position
