* Reviews procedural requirements to assist in developing operation handbooks and guides or conducting training on supply functions for the work force.

* Responds to customer requests for information about managed items including specific part numbers and manufacturer data, inventory counts by manufacturer, etc.

* Performs in-depth technical research and inspections to resolve the more complex problems relating to unidentified material, discrepancies and recurring distribution errors.

* Participates with higher graded specialists to determine the most efficient allocation and utilization of storage space.

* Performs the full range of materials handling and/or packing duties.

* Operates a wide range of materials handling equipment in support of assigned duties.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supply Technician your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-06 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Participating in studies to analyze and research distribution processes and identify errors. Participates in determining allocation and utilization of storage space. Responds to customer requests about distribution supply and inventory questions. Performs material handling and packing duties. Operates materials handling equipment.

B. Education Substitution: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
