OverviewGenesee Lake School, a MyPath company, is a nationally recognized employee-owned provider of educational, vocational, and therapeutic residential services. As a
Support Professional, you will:
- Ensure safety and security, providing supervision at all times.
- Complete documentation including tracking behavioral data, shift summaries, incident reports, and more.
- Assist in development and implantation of treatment plans in collaboration with our treatment team.
- Aid students in their morning routine and their transition to school.
- Support students throughout the day in the school setting and support transition back to program.
- Instruct and assist students in carrying out their daily living activities, including self-care management and developing social, communication, and emotional regulation skills.
- Assist in the classroom by providing guidance and acting as a role model for students.
- Build relationships of trust.
- Manage behavior of our students.
- Demonstrate proactive, appropriate, and effective interactions with students while maintaining self-control during crisis interventions.
- The Support Professional position will start their shift on program, aiding students in their morning routine, transition to school, support students throughout the day, support transition back to program, and will remain on program through the end of the shift. The Support Professional positions are full-time, benefit eligible, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm, and includes working non-school days, during the Extended School Year, and includes holidays.
Qualifications- Must be least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- A valid Wisconsin driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
