This position is responsible to assist the TANF Social Worker as needed in the processing of support services, correspondence and case noting case action in TAS. Provides information regarding the options, rights, regulations and services available. Interprets and applies knowledge of TANF policies and procedures in the resolution of inquiries, requests and complaints. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Training:
- Typically requires Associate's degree with emphasis in, Business Administration, Social Work, Human Services, or related field; OR
- Substituting on a month for month basis, a combination of work experience AND higher education totaling forty-eight months (courses must be directly related to the duties of this position.)
- Ability to understand and implement policies and procedures.
- Must have basic knowledge of Welfare Reform.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
- Requires ability to establish effective working relationships, communication with population served, general public, co-workers and governmental representatives.
- Requires ability to work under stressful situations and handle conflicts, complaints, and other problems in a professional and courteous manner.
- Requires ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Requires working knowledge of computer use and software.
- Requires demonstrated ability to address and resolve conflict in a timely and professional manner.
- Requires demonstrated experience maintaining STRICT confidentiality of program and client information.
- Requires maintain client files in an orderly manner.
- Requires authorized accurate payments on behalf of program participants.
- Requires to attend staff meetings as scheduled.
