Job Summary

Day-to-day oversight, support and operational responsibility for LITC computer labs including supervision of student workers and facilitate cooperation with IT staff. Develops, oversees and maintains processes for the smooth operation of equipment and other tech resources. Reporting and coordination of online on-demand and in-person training offerings.

Responsibilities

Coordinating - 50

Operational oversight - Monitors and coordinates student computer repair services ('Student Serve'); includes oversight of 8 student workers; assisting/guiding student workers in task completion; answering SERVE emails, telephone calls and walk-in inquiries; gather statistics and generate reports.

Customer Service - 25

Media Equipment support - Provide prompt, direct computer support services to LITC administrators, faculty and staff for a wide range of information and instructional resources; facilitate instructional technical support for public computers, labs, offices and meeting spaces; providing recommendations and feedback to Lead Technical Specialist for Instructional Support; assist in planning and implementation of technology initiatives in the LITC. Provide prompt, direct computer support services to LITC administrators, faculty and staff for a wide range of information and instructional resources.

Training - 10

Training Support - Oversee and ensure proper documentation of work performed on student computers; oversee and maintain tracking system to prevent loss and/or theft of student computers; Gather and prepare statistical and other data for a variety of reports, surveys, and presentations.

Coordination w/Library and Lab stakeholders - Participates in Library and University operations through service on internal and external committees as appointed or elected. Coordination w/Library and Lab stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Associates degree in Information Technology, Math, Applied Science or a related field; AND at least one year of experience.

ABILITIES

Ability to work with a varied population; Ability to multitask and work in a busy environment; Ability to work flexible work schedules. Ability to produce graphics and signage.

KNOWLEDGE

A high level of comfort with computer hardware, software and peripherals; Strong problem-solving skills; Capacity to troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues; Solid working knowledge of Windows XP & Apple OS X; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
