Job Summary **In this role you will be required to travel to our site in Moose Lake at MSOP for New Employee Orientation at least once a month.** The Human Resources Support Technician provides administrative support to Department of Human Services /Direct Care and Treatment managers, supervisors and employees. This includes providing support and assistance to staff and customers on personnel issues, general administrative support to HR staff, and scanning/validating of personnel documents into the Electronic Document Management system. Principal responsibilities/major tasks include:
- Effectively assist, inform, advise and consult with employees, supervisors, and/or managers on personnel related policies, procedures and practices as well as collective bargaining agreements and plans
- Perform administrative duties to maintain efficient operation of the HR unit
- Function as the Human Resources representative for new employee orientation (NEO), ensuring pre-employment and first day compliance requirements are met and conducting necessary follow-up with supervisors and/or transactions staff .
- Create, manipulate, and run reports from a variety of software systems and applications as needed or requested
***This position is primarily Telework with a need to occasionally travel to attend meetings in the office. This team is currently teleworking; however, this may change in the future with notice. Telework (Within Minnesota or Neighboring States) ***
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 1 year of experience performing administrative or clericalduties in a human resourcesetting that demonstrates the following:
- Experience working with a Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.
- Performing a variety of administrative program support functions that includes application and interpretation of statute, policies and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.

- Working knowledge of the AFSCME, MAPE, MMA and MNA collective bargaining agreements; Commissioners and Managerial Plans; and rules and laws (i.e. FMLA, Affirmative Action and Data Practices) that affect Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of SEMA4.
- BA degree or higher in Human Resources or Organizational Management or related field.
