Job Summary/OverviewDrives liquefied (propane) gas or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, or elevating platform, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Follow ALL safety procedures and attendance requirements. •Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. •Positions forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area. •Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. •Inventories materials on the work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed. •Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. •Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices. •Recharges batteries or replaces liquefied gas (propane) tank. •Receives verbal or written instructions from supervisors and co-workers regarding material to be processed or moved. •Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. •Opens containers. •Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. •Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. •Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. •Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination. •Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. •Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bins, pallets, or other containers. •Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. •Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis. •Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. •Assembles crates to contain products such as machine parts or other materials. •Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must have computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs. SAP experience preferred.
