The Office of Academic Affairs/Academic Student Success at the University of New Mexico-Taos seeks a highly motivated Supervisor of Academic Advisement to lead advising efforts and support students in achieving their academic goals. This role emphasizes the Academic Coaching model and Graduation/Transfer advisement while coordinating overall advising and coaching initiatives at UNM-Taos.

The Supervisor will manage academic advisement/coaching personnel and TRIO Student Support Services personnel, oversee advising initiatives focused on student success, retention, and graduation, and provide direct academic advisement, including transfer navigation and intervention strategies to support student progress. Additionally, this individual will connect students to faculty advisors, tutors, support services, and other resources to ensure they receive the assistance needed to succeed in their studies.

This position is funded by the Caminos Title V grant and will involve collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs, the Center for Academic Success and Achievement, TRIO advisors, and other staff. The Supervisor will also serve as a liaison to campus entities (e.g., UNM branches and the Albuquerque campus), other higher education institutions (e.g., transfer initiatives), and the community.

This is a full-time, term, benefits-eligible grant-funded position. Continuation beyond 09/30/2025 is dependent on funding availability.

Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree

* Effective written and communication skills as demonstrated in applicant's cover letter and resume.

* Excellent customer service and collaboration skills to work with a diverse student population, staff, faculty and community resources.

* Experience with and training in coaching models within an educational setting.

* Experience with providing and/or coordinating academic advising initiatives; including transferring, outreach, and retention.

* Experience with academic curriculum and data management systems.
