A $15,000 Sign On Bonus offered for qualified candidates! Shift: Full Time (4 10's starting at either 7a or 9a) Rotating Shift Surgical Assistant Qualifications:
  • Virginia Surgical Assistant License/Registration REQUIRED
  • National Certification REQUIRED
  • Completion of Surgical Assistant program REQUIRED
  • PRIOR SA experience STRONGLY PREFERRED

The cardiothoracic operating room is part of the surgical services team that treat open-heart (cardiothoracic) patients. We are made up of five operating rooms which includes a hybrid OR. Cardiac Surgical Assistant.#LI-BA1. #INDEED.Job SummaryThe Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA/CSFA) works as a 1st or 2nd assistant to the surgeon and under the direction and supervision of that surgeon may perform specific significant surgical tasks.Anticipating the needs of the surgical team, the Certified Surgical Assistant assists the surgeon with tasks such as selecting equipment, set up of various tables and positioning equipment, providing retraction for visualization of surgical site, cauterization of bleeding vessels, suturing and closure of incision, instillation of medications, application of surgical dressings, splints, and casts. The surgical assistant has responsibilities before, during and after the surgical procedure.
