A healthcare system in New York City is actively seeking a patient-oriented Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team. In this role, the Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) will perform inpatient consults alongside clinic and OR duties, with 2 clinic days, 2 OR days per week, and utilizing the 5th day for other responsibilities.About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:The Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) will:
- Provide patient care under the direction of various surgical specialists
- Foster a safe, collaborative, and professional healthcare environment to ensure optimal patient care
- Order, collect, and perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures, including blood and tissue specimens
- Analyze data to formulate differential and working diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients under supervision
- Perform minor outpatient surgical procedures, such as wound management, debridement, incision, and drainage, under supervision
- Order, prescribe, and administer medications as necessary, under the direction of the attending physician
Qualifications:
- Current New York State License to practice as a Physician Assistant
- 2+ years of surgical operating room experience
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification
- DEA License
- Strong medical skills and knowledge
