Per Diem Surgical Physician Assistant - Northern Dutchess Hospital The Nuvance Health Medical Practice Division of Surgical Physician Assistants is seeking a board-certified Surgical Physician Assistant to join its team at Northern Dutchess Hospital The Nuvance Health Surgical PA Service is a hospital-based group covering Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Putnam Hospital Center, and Northern Dutchess Hospital in the Hudson Valley Region of New York.
Northern Dutchess Hospital Service Responsibilities: OR First Assisting- Surgical PA Services first assist in the OR for specialties including but not limited to general, bariatric, plastic, spine, and OB/GYN cases. Rounding- Surgical PA's round on general surgery and bariatric patients daily. This is done as a team-based approach with attendings, residents, students. Consults/ Admissions- Surgical PA Services covers admissions and consults for general and bariatric surgeons Night Coverage - On call from home. Night coverage responsibilities include first assisting emergent OR cases, admissions and consults for general surgery. Floor Procedures- Surgical PA's are responsible for floor procedures including but not limited to NG tube insertion and removal, wound vac and dressings changes, bedside I&D. Qualifications: - The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified as well as possess strong surgical and patient management experience.
- Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.
