Location: Burlington,MA, USA
We are looking for an enthusiastic, superb retina surgeon focused on taking the best care of their patients to join our team of six retina doctors at Lahey. We have a collegial practice with excellent support providing outstanding care to local, national, and international patients, while also training fellows and residents.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic and busy ophthalmology service with 16 comprehensive and subspecialty ophthalmologists and 8 optometrists. The retina team consists of five retina surgeons, one medical retina physician, as well as a uveitis specialist. We have two retina fellows (one per year) in our AUPO-compliant fellowship and we are looking for a colleague who is dedicated to teaching. As a teaching hospital, our physicians qualify for academic appointments at UMass Chan School of Medicine and adjunct academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine, through which our physicians participate in the Tufts/New England Eye Center Ophthalmology Residency program.
Our physicians see patients at two main clinics (Burlington and Peabody) as well as at surrounding private practices for whom we provide retina care. All surgeries are done at our in-house ambulatory operating room in Peabody, which is fully stocked with state of the art equipment. Burlington and Peabody are suburbs north of Boston and the area provides excellent school systems, abundant cultural activities, and convenient access to Boston, the mountains, and seacoast.
There is support for investigator-sponsored and pharma-sponsored clinical research as well as for CME and attending meetings. Lahey has a commitment to global health and our retina doctors have travelled to Turkey, Egypt, and Tanzania for teaching and medical outreach.
