Job Description:
Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for a Surveillance Officer! The Surveillance Officer (Overnight Shift) works in the central control room and monitors and operates the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, answer and respond to any emergency and non-emergency communications, dispatch officers to calls for assistance and information to the appropriate individuals/departments, maintain daily logs, shift reports, and incident reports, and contact police or emergency services when necessary.All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures. Job Duties
  • Follow the directives of the Security and Surveillance chain of command
  • Answer department telephone with courtesy and professionalism
  • Monitor closed-circuit TV (CCTV) cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment
  • Dispatch officers and equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, requests, or immediate needs
  • Relay information such as alarms, emergency signals, work orders or other messages to and from personnel using telephones, two-way radios, or text messages to contact employees or emergency personnel
  • Complete and organize proper reports and logs when necessary
  • Coordinate with law enforcement as necessary
  • Must maintain operational awareness of the location of all Security officers assigned to the shift.
  • Monitor all foot and vehicular traffic on Sunseeker Resorts owned and operated properties.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all information (oral or written) relevant to the operating procedures, capabilities, equipment uses, and equipment locations, of the Security and Surveillance department
  • May be called on to perform the duties of a Security Officer I or II dependent on the needs of the department
Minimum RequirementsCombination of Education and Experience will be considered.Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. Candidates will need to be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Pre-employment drug screenings are required for this position as a condition of employment.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Florida State class D Security License
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Florida State class G Armed Security License
  • Ability to maintain certification with all issued firearms and defensive weapons and gear.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a First Aid /CPR/AED certification.
  • Must complete all training requirements as directed by Sunseeker leadership
  • Call Center Representative, Dispatch or Camera Monitoring experience preferred
Other Minimum Requirements
  • Must be available to work all department shifts (7a-3:30p, 3p-11:30p, 11p-7:30a) or a hybrid of these times.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer Skills Competency
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition
  • Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel
  • Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties
  • Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time
  • Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances
  • Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
  • Sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to walk for long periods
