You will be an integral part of the Analytics team within our fast-growing Scientific Research Group. Here's a breakdown of what you'll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
- Support researchers and clients in their data collection and research projects, through survey methodology, data management, and light data analysis.
- Learn and utilize YouGov's sampling methodology approach to create sampling frames and weight survey data to produce representative results.
- Utilize programming skills to implement complex data processing systems and pipelines, process, explore, and analyze large datasets, and produce relevant survey data outputs.
- Perform classic survey analytics such as logistic regression and hypothesis testing.
- Contribute to existing R codebase and collaborate with Analytics teammates to innovate on existing processes.
These are the essentials you will need to get an interview:
- Programming experience in R, preferably with the ability to work both inside and outside of the tidyverse framework.
- Strong grasp of programming fundamentals (e.g. control structures, writing functions, debugging, and object-oriented or functional programming concepts).
- Knowledge of the basics of sampling theory.
- Experience in statistical modelling, either gained in a professional setting or through academic studies.
It would be great if you had these too, but we'll support you if you don't:
- Familiarity with survey data or market research.
- Familiarity with other technologies such as Linux, Git, SQL, Python programming.
- Some prior exposure to political science or political consulting.

For roles based in New York, Colorado or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00. Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
