With our next generation of subsea vehicles, such as the Liberty™ E-ROV and Freedom™ AUV, we push the boundaries of autonomy and remote work capabilities, using machine learning for better decision making and asset maintenance.Position SummaryThe Survey Data QC Analyst for Survey & Positioning (S&P) is essential in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of survey data used to inform strategic decisions and generate actionable insights. This role oversees data processing and analysis for all project phases, including job preparation, field support, office quality control, final reporting, deliverable review, and project closeout, as assigned by Project Management.The role requires strong expertise in data quality control, statistical analysis, and proficiency with data validation tools. Working on company-provided systems with specialized software, the Survey Data QC Analyst collaborates closely with offshore staff, GIS, and Project Management teams to support diverse survey operations and deliverables.This is a U.S.- based position with a remote work schedule and may require travel to other designated geographic areas as needed. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required based on assignments. Available on an as-needed basis for on-call support, including participation in weekend rotations. Duties & Responsibilities• Perform in-depth quality control checks on survey data to identify inconsistencies, errors, and anomalies. Ensure data accuracy and completeness before final reporting.• Use statistical methods and analytical tools to validate survey results, ensuring the integrity and reliability of datasets.• Prepare detailed reports and documentation on data quality findings. Develop corrective action plans and update standard operating procedures as necessary.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine survey methodologies, implement data quality improvements, and optimize data collection processes.• Utilize data cleaning tools and software to preprocess survey data, remove inaccuracies, and prepare datasets for analysis.• Data processing and analysis support for surface navigation setup and calibration (DGPS, vessel offsets, gyro, MRU), spool and jumper metrology (acoustic and inertial), subsea navigation setup, calibration, data acquisition (USBL, LBL, INS), and quality control of final reports.• Demonstrates a willingness to mentor and support the development of other team members.• Capable of working independently as well as collaborating effectively within a team.• Engagement in the company's competency, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE), and quality programs is a core part of this role.• Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.QualificationsREQUIRED• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.• Two (2) plus years of experience in offshore and/or onshore surveying, preferably with a focus on the offshore activities outlined above or demonstrated equivalent skills and knowledge to effectively perform the required duties. • Demonstrated practical experience in data management, data analysis, mapping, data standards, and related software.• Proficient in M365 Microsoft applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and OneNote.• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant software.• Understanding of DGPS, geodesy, metrology, LBL, and surface/subsea survey sensors.• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively report findings and communicate with remote teams.• Ability to work in a fully remote environment and accommodate an on-call schedule when necessary.DESIRED• Five (5) plus years of experience in offshore and/or onshore surveying, preferably with a focus on the offshore activities outlined above or demonstrated equivalent skills and knowledge to effectively perform the required duties.• ROV data processing ability using NaviEdit and NaviModel, specifically multibeam oriented surveys.• Photogrammetric knowledge, specifically using Agisoft Metashape.• Dimensional Control experience.• Exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICSPlanning and Organizing / Human Resource Management / Developing Others/ Decision Making / Results Orientation:• Ability to make objective decisions timely and effectively.• Skill to recognize when decisions or information should be referred to a higher authority.• Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.• Skill to effectively manage time and organize information to meet operational needs and desired outcomes.• Provides/ develops appropriate documentation to track progress of a project.Health and Safety / Technology / Stress Management / Thoroughness / Analytical Thinking / Forward Thinking:• Knowledge of methods and techniques used in safety inspections and accident prevention.• Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of safety and health as it relates to employees and the public.• Skill to work effectively under pressure.• Ability to use various information technology systems required for successful job performance.• Be able to prepare numerous work product types under supervision.Client Focus / Communication / Ethics and Integrity / Business Administration / Accounting and Financial:• Ability to determine and meet customer needs.• Respond to clients in a positive and truthful manner.• Ensures that regular and consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility.• Maintain inter-office and project confidentiality.• Respond politely to members of the community.• Working as a team member/ getting along with co-workers.• Responding in a positive manner to supervision.• Ability to accept responsibility for your actions.• High standards of honesty, integrity, trust, and ethical behavior.Additional InformationThis position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office.
