Voted one of Chicago's Best Places to Work by the Chicago Tribune for the eighth year in a row, Clarity Partners is hiring! Clarity Partners is seeking a Survey Technician local to Chicago, IL. This person will be responsible for reviewing and correcting prepared base maps for water main and lead service replacement programs under the supervision of the Survey Manager and Water Main Design Manager. This position will report in a hybrid setting on a client facing project.Responsibilities:
  • Process utility Information Retrieval (IR) requests from the CDOT Office of Underground Coordination (OUC) for the Water Main Replacement Program.
  • Review and correct OUC utility data in topographic survey base maps using MicroStation V8i, adhering to Utility and CADD standards.
  • Prepare GIS maps for IR processes and 80-acre sheets for water main projects using ArcMap.
  • Coordinate with and provide technical recommendations to topographic survey consultants.
  • Manage the base map revision process in collaboration with the Water Main Design and CADD teams.
  • Support the management of Topographic Survey Consulting Firms for Water Main Replacement Programs.
  • Track project status using P6 and other tracking software, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members, providing clear written and verbal updates.
RequirementsRequirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in CADD, Planning, Engineering, or a related science field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in CADD, civil engineering, water resources, or planning disciplines.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation V8i, ArcMap, and P6 project tracking software.
  • Strong understanding of utility infrastructure work and engineering principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with teams and consultants.
