Description(empty)Hitachi Astemo, a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive and motorcycle industries, has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer position in our Shock Absorber Research & Development department in Sunbury, OH.Job responsibilities would include:Creating 3D CAD layouts and suspension component designs Performing engineering analysis for new product development Creating detail drawings Communicating with suppliers and customers for new product development Root-cause analysis of past design issues to improve design Occasional travel and overtime may be requiredThe ideal candidate will be motivated and self-driven and must have the following qualities:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals 3D CAD experience (Catia, Solidworks, or Pro-E preferred) Proficient in MS applications, including Excel, and PowerPointBeneficial candidate attributes:Experience working in Japanese/American engineering culture Understanding of suspension design/function Motorcycle or automotive development experience (including FSAE, mini-baja, etc.) Interest in motorcycle or automotive hobbies Hands on mechanical aptitudeEqual Opportunity Employer (EOE)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesIf you need a reasonable accommodation to apply for a job at Hitachi, please send the nature of request and contact information to ...@hitachi-automotive.us.
