Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) has an exciting opening for a Sustainable Procurement Specialist. This is a full time remote position, with possible travel to Dallas, Texas.
Reporting to the Senior Director ESG, the successful applicant will have a shared role between the Finance team and ESG office focused on the Company's ESG reporting requirements and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Senior Director ESG, you will work globally and cross functionally to coordinate, align and proactively implement ESG initiatives
- This position provides exposure and a unique opportunity to work across all business units and interface with cross functional leaders, including but not limited to Legal, Finance, Quality, Operations; and additional individuals reporting directly to those leaders
- Key team member working alongside our financial and ESG reporting teams in the development, documentation, and execution of the ESG disclosure control program to support required external reporting and auditor assurance for ESG reporting, leveraging use of technology where appropriate
- Conduct ongoing benchmarking of ESG and sustainability disclosures relative to our peers, other corporate ESG and sustainability leaders, industry trends, and best practices
- Administer the online platform used for data collection and audit, lead the US Net Zero Fleet initiative
- Monitor, analyze, and report progress on purchases relative to sustainability (climate action, human rights, & responsible sourcing)
- Match supplier capabilities with stakeholders' business needs by maintaining a list of qualified and diverse suppliers across most procurement categories
- Provide in-depth data analysis throughout sourcing process, identify gaps and areas of commonality, and review with management and stakeholders
- Partner with category and product managers, business partners, and technical staff to understand requirements and to proactively educate the broader business about the importance of responsible sourcing and managing the supply chain to mitigate human rights, environmental, social, and other risks
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a high-level understanding of the global ESG workspace, with 2 years proven experience and expertise in ESG or a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or supplier quality management /engineering and strong interest in ESG
- Familiarity with ESG-related disclosures and industry trends, and willing to develop expertise, is preferable but not required
- Knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting including scope 1, 2, and 3, is preferable
- Must be comfortable to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- The ideal candidate has 3+ years of procurement experience, strong relationship-building skills, and attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities (e.g., time management and efficiency)
- Strong analytical skills (e.g., identify and research issues/outliers)
