Job Description Jefferies is seeking a Senior Vice President (Director level equivalent), who will serve as an innovative senior product manager & strategist responsible for digitizing investing banking. The role will work across investment banking to identify, prioritize, and refine new ideas and capability enhancements with focus on digitizing internal business workflows that enable the firm's client business development, deal execution & business reporting workflows. The role will sit within the investment bank but work closely with the technology organization to help drive and develop long-term and short-term product strategy & roadmap. It is essential for this person to be able to translate what the investment banking management team needs into technology projects that solve across the digital, technology, data & infrastructure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have experience in business, technology, business insights & reporting as well as demonstrated success in building relationships with both client-facing business stakeholders & technology stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to digitize Jefferies' Investing Banking group by driving more efficiency and improving workflows, leveraging better use of tools, implementing data and analytics capabilities, enabling collaboration and delivering stronger insights and automating product capabilities that generate business insights like revenue forecasts, wallet share & pipeline analysis. The role is part of a niche Digital Strategy team that serves as the 'bridge' between Jefferies' investment banking group and the technology organization. Responsibilities:
  • The Digital Products Strategist, Investment Banking will be responsible for the following:
  • Influence & contribute to the investment banking business' digital transformation strategy; mobilize commitment, shared vision, and work toward digital transformation.
  • Partner with the COO organization (each business group has a COO) to digitize COO workflows, automate business insight generation & partner with subject matter experts to answer questions on Wallet Share & Revenue forecast metrics.
  • Form the regional marketing strategy to push adoption of both new and existing products with bankers, business heads, COOs & other IB end-users.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the investment banking product vision/strategy & work with technology partners on feature prioritization of the product suite back-log.
  • Work with technology product owners and teams to help remediate blockers, test new capabilities, evangelize the products & features, drive hands-on product adoption, marketing & training.
  • Validate that new solutions both those built in-house and those available from vendors meet business objectives.
  • Challenge the status quo - rationalize, unify, and simplify business processes and design.
  • Exhibit a participative leadership style, providing a positive influence on the workforce and investment banking/technology leadership teams.
Qualifications & Experience: The Digital Products Strategist, Investment Banking will have successfully navigated and helped accelerate their respective company with game changing digitally enabled, modernized products. They should have exposure to the Investment Banking businesses either as a team-member, stakeholder, power-user, advisor or consultant. While having a technology background may be a plus, it is not mandatory to have it. This individual must have high IQ and EQ to be viewed as an effective business partner by their respective business peers and across the Jefferies Leadership Team. The capabilities and experiences most critical to success in this role are:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in leading large-scale product strategy, product planning, adoption & rollout initiatives with at least 6 years handling both product strategy & product management.
  • Experience managing the product lifecycle from planning using metrics, completion including user demos & rollouts including user engagement, telling the story of where the product is going and where we need participation.
  • Experience with building consensus around product feature thinking, working with technology partners to refine a product roadmap aligned to product strategy.
  • Business & revenue related reporting products experience more in terms of what it takes to envision & build experiences for senior stakeholders.
  • Defines objectives and collaborates with technology partners on roadmaps/timelines to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced hands-on culture.
  • Thinks big picture and understands the potential risk/impact of business decisions.
  • Must have exceptional time management skills, excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Adept at building strong relationships with the business by helping them understand how technology can be deployed to drive strategic outcomes. Strong influencing skills with the ability to bring people along, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive digital transformation.
  • Able to drive action and make clear decisions, leveraging analytics and test & learn. Understands how to recognize and recover quickly from failures, both as an individual and on behalf of the team.

The Salary Range for this position is $250,000-$275,000 Jefferies Financial Group Inc.
