Lead and grow and RGA's U.S. Group Reinsurance business and Latin American business and play a proactive, collaborative part in the ongoing development of RGA's corporate structure, strategy, and senior management - reflecting the importance of these Business Units, and their teams, to the overall success of RGA. U.S. Group Reinsurance includes Group Life, Accident, Disability, and Healthcare reinsurance. The Latin American business includes Group Life, Healthcare, and Individual Life reinsurance. This position has primary responsibility for the profitability and growth of these lines of business. Develop business practices and a culture that enhances RGA's global identity as the leading global provider of life & health reinsurance and a global leader in financial services. Ensure strong local management teams are maintained that can motivate and engage all team members to meet & exceed established goals and objectives in accordance with established policy. The SVP & Head of U.S. Group Reinsurance and Latin America is an ambassador for RGA and will have significant exposure to and contact with senior-level executives within RGA and with RGA's clients, industry leaders, and other financial services professionals.

Responsibilities

* Set the strategy for US Group Re and Latin America to grow and develop the business, with direction from EVP, Head of RGA Americas. Participate in the development of the over-arching strategy for RGA Americas. Serve on the senior leadership team for RGA Americas.

* Manage and take full responsibility for US Group Re and Latin America to meet or exceed the financial targets, budget and business objectives for the operation, including meeting annual revenue, NBEV and pre-tax operating income targets.

* Provides leadership and oversight for US Group Re's and LatAm's operational support areas, including premium administration, claims, treaties, actuarial, valuation, and finance.

* Develop strong relationships with Executive Officers ( C-Suite ) of target client companies.

* Identifying major trends, new developments, and strategic opportunities and promoting awareness of such across the organization.

* Ensure proper procedures, infrastructure, and controls are in place to be able to accurately complete required reports and management information on a timely basis.

* Develop a good understanding of key targeted clients' modes of operation and identify solutions to help clients meet their strategic, financial, and operational objectives.

* Effectively partner with other parts of RGA to align the business development function and ensure all parts of RGA are brought to market to maximize value to RGA.

* Successfully implement agreed-upon business development strategies including appropriate sales, marketing, communication plans, and pricing strategies that will result in profitable new business for RGA

* Oversee all contract negotiations, and ensures proposals and quotations offered to clients are appropriately priced and comply with local regulations.

* Represent RGA in its relationships with major customers, bankers, government bodies, professional societies, and similar groups.

* Ensure that the appropriate infrastructure exists to succeed in the market. This infrastructure can be based within the Business Unit or elsewhere in RGA. Work closely with appropriate Global Leaders to ensure local Business Unit requirements are met efficiently and effectively for the overall benefit of RGA.

* Work collaboratively with the RGA executives with legal responsibility for the entities used by the Business Units (e.g. RGA Global, RGA Americas, and others) to ensure the financial soundness of these entities.

* Leads, manages, and directs department team, including hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and fostering a positive and engaged work environment.

* Set the culture of the operation, lead by example, and contribute to the team-building spirit within the Business Units. Balance local customs with the corporate culture of RGA.

* Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations and ensure reporting deadlines and communications with regulating authorities are met.

* Develop and implement risk management procedures and policies and ensure monitoring processes provide adequate information on performance.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree, in Business, Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, or related field, Master's degree in art's/science preferred.

* 15+ group leading a group or reinsurance division/team.

* 10+ years of proven leadership expertise building and leading professional teams.

Preferred:

* Group life, Accident, Disability., and/or Healthcare experience

* Highly advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills utilizing experience, research, guidelines, and internal resources.

* Exceptional skills in managing multiple tasks, projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to handle changing priorities and delegate key areas of responsibility.

* Expertise in translating business needs and problems into viable and accepted solutions.

* Expert ability to analyze and improve business processes.

* Expert knowledge of reinsurance products, and group insurance.

Compensation Range:

$294,100.00 - $443,167.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
