POSITION SUMMARY The SVP of Marketing is responsible for developing and driving comprehensive marketing strategies that align with Five Below's business goals and enhance its market position. This leader will be at the forefront of shaping Five Below's brand and ensuring that it speaks directly to the hearts of teens and tweens. You will craft and execute breakthrough marketing strategies that not only drive revenue but also boost brand awareness and drive brand engagement. Additionally, this leader will build, develop, and manage a best-in-class marketing team aligned with Five Below's strategic growth plans. The SVP of Marketing is a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and will report directly to the President & CEO. The ideal candidate must think strategically and execute flawlessly. They should also be energized by the transformative opportunity to shape the brand in a way that deeply resonates with younger, trend-conscious audiences. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence teams and unite the organization around a clear strategy. As a dedicated brand protector, they will keep the customer front and center, ensuring consistency in both brand and messaging. A proven track record of building brands and delivering results is crucial. RESPONSIBILITIES •Drives business results by developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies focused on customer acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth. •Oversees the development and execution of both short- and long-term brand strategies that guide and shape marketing content creation. •Establishes and oversees the implementation of the organization's comprehensive go-to-market and digital strategies, ensuring alignment with business unit goals and growth targets through on-brand advertising, campaign execution, and optimization of digital marketing efforts across various channels, including SEO, social media, and email marketing. •Collaborates with internal business leaders to balance short-term tactical execution and spending with long-term growth strategies. •Serves as a senior marketing advisor to executive leadership, understanding customer journeys and maintaining a deep understanding of the target audience's buyer journey to align marketing strategies accordingly. •Analyzes the competitive and digital landscape, market trends, and customer behavior to inform marketing strategies. Stays up to date with the latest marketing trends, technologies, and best practices, proactively applying insights to enhance marketing efforts. Monitors market conditions and adapts campaign strategies as needed to drive revenue, ensuring positive financial outcomes and brand growth. •Measures the impact of marketing activities on mission, revenue, and margins by leveraging data-driven insights to optimize marketing performance, drive return on investment, and ensure alignment with brand standards. •Maintains service level agreements for timely service delivery and assesses departmental needs to supplement internal resources. Oversees relationships with external agencies and vendors and collaborates with the procurement department to select and manage external partners while supporting supplier diversity initiatives. Manages vendor agreements to ensure projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget. •Develops and manages budgets to ensure funds are allocated and spent efficiently within set parameters; responsible for maintaining these budgets throughout the year, balancing expenditures with profitability expectations. •Leads and develops talent by designing organizational structures for multiple departments and overseeing staff development and training. Ensures ongoing succession planning within and outside the unit, actively networking and sourcing candidates throughout the organization. •Establishes project priorities and timelines, articulating a vision for organizational change and authorizing the use of time, talent, and financial resources to support projects and improvement initiatives. •Demonstrates leadership in the community by serving on volunteer boards, steering committees, or other community groups aligned with the organization's intended impact. QUALIFICATIONS •10+ years of extensive experience in working in traditional and digital marketing roles, preferably within the retail industry •Proven experience building brands and running marketing campaigns that speak to the digitally native Gen Z and Alpha, with expertise in platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. A keen eye for driving engagement and loyalty among these audiences. •Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies •Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels •Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment •A passion for innovation and a deep understanding of the latest trends in technology, AI, and digital marketing •A strong creative orientation, with the ability to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table •Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where bold ideas are not just welcomed but essential to driving the brand forward.
