Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The Opportunity The role is accountable for planning, directing and executing the vision for the property industry by developing strategy, building strong industry relationships, sharing extensive industry knowledge, and communicating and capitalizing on best practices that align with corporate objectives. Lead the establishment and execution of a consistent and coordinated underwriting approach that supports the achievement of business results, enables sustainable and profitable organizational growth, and aligns business unit objectives with broad organizational objectives to ensure realization of long-term, wide-reaching goals. Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for a suite of products; lead and shape development of strategy by setting annual plans and organizing necessary resources to ensure efficiency and progress towards goals
  • Drive the integrity of the underwriting process by adhering to and guiding team to follow underwriting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure accuracy of information and minimize risk
  • Guide and shape underwriting quality assurance, price, rate and exposure monitoring, price adequacy and risk selection for all products for assigned line(s) of business/industry vertical
  • Utilize influential authority and leadership knowledge to identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement, develop new business, and increase retention to build a sustainable business model
  • Guide and shape the implementation of strategic team initiatives by providing mentorship and feedback during large-scale project development and reporting to ensure plans support portfolio growth, mitigate risk and adhere to executive level requirements and expectations
  • Recommend risk tolerances with respect to maximum size and capacity while balancing the needs of the products with the risk appetite of the region and/or group
  • Build strategic relationships with current and potential customers by networking and providing engaged consultation to foster business growth and meet underwriting and profitability goals
  • Oversee the analysis of all products underwritten within assigned line(s) of business/industry vertical to achieve overall financial results set forth within the business plan
  • Utilize high degree of business acumen to drive negotiations and relationships surrounding complex risks to ensure agreements and plans contribute to organizational growth and development as a competitive force in the marketplace
  • Performs all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, employee development, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, disciplinary actions, leadership, coaching & counseling
Required Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Required Experience 10+ years relevant experience Preferred Competencies/Skills
