Job Description
Assist with various tasks assigned by the Resident Life Manager. Communicate responsibilities with the Restroom Attendants, Resident Assistants, and Lead Resident Assistants. Form a liaison between the housing office and housing staff. Maintain cleaning responsibilities delegated by the Resident Life Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Communicate with housing staff to help resolve resident conflicts
* Assist with planning and organizing events for the residents in the residence halls
* Monitor cameras for curfew infractions
* Filing, copying, printing as needed or assigned
* Creating posters, flyers, information for various housing events
* Create and maintain housing staff schedules
* Create and maintain various excel spreadsheets
* Organize and disseminate room keys during move-in
* Resposnbile for administrative and cleaning duties assigned by the Resident Life Manager
* Attend weekly meetings with the Resident Life Manager
* Attend and sometimes facilitate weekly meetings with the Restroom Attendants
* Attend and sometimes facilitate weekly meetings with the Resident Assistants
* Serve as a role model in every aspect of university and residential life
* Represent and support student life and the university interactions with students, faculty, staff, parents, and guests
* Communicate and enforce university policies and resident life regulations
* Be familiar with all printed materials directly affecting the operation of resident life, including policies, forms and student handbooks
* Direct students to the appropriate support services as needed
* Respect and maintain confidentiality of students and staff
* Prior to each semester, the Head RA must arrive at campus at the designated time set by the Resident Life Manager
* Demonstrate a caring and supportive attitude toward others and endeavor to be understanding of others whose lifestyles and behavior vary from their own
* Maintain the health and safety of the residence hall
* Assist with move-in and move-out
* Help provide additional coverage for the Resident Life Manager when necessary
* Assist in crisis situations
* Work as part of a leadership team, actively supporting other student body efforts
* Maintain regular contact with the Resident Life Manager, Director of Student Services, and other staff members in order to ensure adequate communication concerning dorm situations, programs, etc.
* Report maintenance and IT issues in the prescribed manner
* Maintain high visibility on the floor and on the campus
* Endeavor to involve/promote students in student body activities
* Mediate roommate conflicts
Qualifications
Qualifications
* Must maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA or higher
* Finished a minimum of one semester as a Lead RA
* Junior or Senior academic status is preferred
* Be in good financial standing with the University
* Be in good standing with the DOSS office
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work up to 20 hours per week
* Ability to be on call
* Some administrative skills
* Knowledgeable of Google docs, sheets, forms, etc.
* Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 20lbs
