If you like being outside, if you like working on a team, if you enjoy being a role model and giving back to the community, working at one of The SAY's Community Pools may be for you!The SAY operates two seasonal Outdoor Pool Facilities, The Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA, Located at 59 Locust Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ and The Springfield Community Pool, located at 44 Morrison Road, Springfield, NJ 07081. There are open Swim Instructor positions for both locations. Candidates who can work at both facilities are desirable.The Lifeguard maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. They create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Y policies and procedures.The Summit Area YMCA is seeking energetic and passionate Swim Instructors to join our community pool team and keep our Y family safe while at the pool. The Swim Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. They follow the guidelines of the YMCA Swim Lesson Program and ensure that participants have a positive and safe learning environment.This position is seasonal with an opportunity to work 12 hours each week for group lessons and potentially more for private lessons as they are booked by members. Wages are competitive, starting $17.00/hour, but based on experience.The active Outdoor Pool season runs from Late May - Early September with some pre season work/ trainings.You might be the right candidate if:

- Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Must obtain YMCA Swim Instructor certification within 1st year of employment.
- Ability to obtain Certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen within 1st year of employment.
- At least 15 years of age.
