This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. Assists the swim coach in building and maintaining a successful YMCA Swim Team. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting swim practices and meets which abide by all applicable guidelines.IMMEDIATE VACANCIES* Assistant Swim Team Coaches - Part Time Seasonal; Evening hours only* Glenville YMCA (2)* Guilderland YMCA (2)* Greenbush YMCA (2)* Southern Saratoga YMCA (2)* Bethlehem YMCA (3)MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL AQUATIC POSITIONS* AGE RESTRICTION: Minimum age of 16 years old.* TESTING: Be able to pass a CDYMCA swim test, administered by the Aquatics Director or designated individual.* CERTIFICATIONS: Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid* SKILLS: Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.ASSISTANT SWIM COACH - $16.85 PER HOUR - ASSISTS WITH SWIM TEAMREQUIRED DOCUMENT(S): NYS Working Papers (Under 18 yrs old), and VALID aquatic certifications.* Minimum age of 16 years.* Minimum of three years of experience in all levels of competitive swim participation at the scholastic, collegiate or club level.* Previous swim team coaching experience required.* Experience with Meet and Team Manager Software is preferred.* Basic computer skills required.* Current aquatic certifications (YMCA or American Red Cross).Part Time Perks - FREE single membership and paid sick leave!
