We are currently seeking a compassionate, and enthusiastic Switchboard Registrar to join our friendly team!
Job Title: Switchboard Registrar
Status: PRN (every other weekend, and added to the Holiday rotation schedule)
Summary
The Switchboard registrar is responsible for patient registration and support of billing operations for the healthcare system.
* Manages multi-line phone system and greets visitors for IMH.
* Registers patients seeking care.
* Verifies insurance, and scans insurance cards and photo IDs.
* Collects co-pays, processes patient account transactions, and assists with basic claims and billing operations

* Ensure confidentiality of patients, residents, visitors, co-workers and the organization in all day to day activities.
* Is flexible and adapts to change and new tasks.
* Knowledge of office equipment.
Required Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent required, plus one year of office/clerical support or experience working with the public. 1-3 years' experience in claims processing, business or accounting experience in the healthcare field is desirable.
Iroquois Memorial Hospital is A 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois, consisting of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include, but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, St. Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. along with a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
