Essential Duties:
- Supervises a team of Plumber journeyman, contractors, and apprentices to ensure completion of work orders in timely manner and ensures all city codes, OSHA, IPC, and IBC regulations have been followed.
- Performs general plumbing work including installation, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Oversees the repairs, replacements and installations of any plumbing issues within the district.
- Performs, plans and lays out work, develop cost estimates, and identify/order required materials.
- Assists team on plumbing task to complete work orders, follows maintenance schedules, log work accomplished and interact with building based personnel to determine problems and locations of repairs.
- Communicates effectively with all OKCPS personnel, students and visitors.
- Promotes the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the Department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
- Participates in the training, development and mentoring of less experienced employees.
- Assigns tasks to workers and specifies methods of coordinating workflow to facilitate completion of all jobs in a timely manner.
- Schedules, plans, and prioritizes the work to meet timelines.
- Drives district owned vehicles to assigned sites
- Responsible for completion of work relative to deadlines and review of work quality of direct reports.
- Core work schedule may change due to operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Current Oklahoma journeyman plumbing license.
- Five (5) years' experience in service and repair of commercial facilities.
- Two (2) years supervisory/foreman experience managing crews of multiple journeyman.
- Possession of a valid operator's driver's license and acceptable driving record as determined to meet district motor vehicle insurance coverage requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot plumbing systems.
- Knowledgeable of IPC regulations, jobsite safety, current city and building codes.
- Ability to perform, plan, and coordinate routine preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- General knowledge or experience of practices, tools and terminology of plumbing trade.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, manufacturing and structural drawing plans, and factory service manuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain schedules for manpower.

Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
- Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
- Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
- Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, work in small spaces, walk and reach overhead and work from a lift.
- Ability to perform duties in confined spaces and awkward positions when necessary.
- Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
Work Environment:
- Work involves frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals bio hazardous materials, dirt dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
