The role of the SysOps Technician is to provide tier 2 hardware and software support to all corporate users. This involves providing technical assistance and resolution, setting up, maintaining and repairing computer systems throughout the company. Ensuring the customer of resolution to all problems and security software is updated and running properly Key Responsibilities
- Document solutions and ensure others are informed of changes and developments
- Troubleshoot, upgrade, and install corporate computer equipment
- Ensure that Internet security software is updated and running properly
- Maintain computer equipment and software to ensure secure and efficient operations
- Repair computer hardware and servers as required
- Test and implement new software programs for the company
- Primarily to cover core hours, although there may be a requirement to cover outside of normal office hours
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1 - 2 years of field experience with computer hardware and software
- A+ certificate
- Prior experience as a Computer Technician or Desktop Support Specialist
- Strong understanding of Microsoft and Apple operating systems
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service skills and patience
- Pleasant phone skills and demeanor
- Able to read and understand technical manuals
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects effectively
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Minimum manual labor is involved, ability to lift up to 40 pounds
