Job Description:
Preferred Skills:Duties:SCCM, WSUS, GPO, Cisco switching and routing, SD-WAN tunneling, VPN tunnelingProvide technical support to KEMI staff, policyholders, agents, and vendors; prioritize issues, and actively engage business and technical staff to assess company needs and improve effectiveness.Support and implement required improvements, regulatory requirements, strategic improvements, and operational improvements through the planning and execution of company projects and tasks.Investigate, recommend, install, and troubleshoot new technologies or replacement of existing technologies to support business needs.Monitor systems, network, and software activity to identify potential problems and issues concerning stability and availability.Actively participate in project implementations through the creation of project plans and assistance with task executions.Document processes and procedures, and report progress while troubleshooting and resolving issues.Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure products and services.Communicate with all levels of the company and collaborate with various departments to complete projects.Provide level 2 support for service desk requests and issues.Assist in the ongoing maintenance of hardware and software through upgrades, support, education, and auditing.Recommend ways to further KEMI business goals using technology.Develop project plans, lead project implementations, and meet scheduled completion dates.Provide on-call weekend and evening support primarily on a rotational basis and perform implementation of projects on evenings and/or weekends to minimize the impact on users.Achieve employee SMART Goals.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to independently manage time, prioritize and perform under pressure.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Self-motivated and directed.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Intermediate knowledge of design, structure, implementation, and maintenance of Local and Wide Area Networking Architecture.Intermediate client/server and operating systems experience with a focus on Microsoft and Linux technologies.Intermediate knowledge of hardware and software relating to workstations, VoIP telecommunication systems, printers, copiers, and mobile devices.Intermediate knowledge of industry SaaS and IaaS solutions.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 preferred.Intermediate knowledge of server applications such as web servers, databases, email, file, and print services.Intermediate knowledge of Active Directory (AD), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Group Policy Management preferred.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Windows Imaging and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) preferred.Intermediate knowledge of networking leveraging Cisco switching and routing, SD-WAN tunneling, and secure remote networking and VPN preferred.Intermediate knowledge of Amazon Workspaces preferred.Intermediate scripting knowledge using batch files, SQL, VBScript, PowerShell, Bash, and Python preferred.Ability to learn and become subject matter expert for internally developed business systems and implemented vendor solutions.Intermediate knowledge of Agile Scrum and ITIL preferred.Intermediate knowledge of document imaging and content management preferred.Education:Bachelor's Degree preferred.Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, and Industry recognized certifications for Linux preferred. Experience:Five years' progressive systems administration experience preferred.FLSA Category:Exempt.Essential Functions:Analyze and support KEMI's systems, network, and application environments, improve internal and external communications, manage risk, and utilize existing and new technologies to achieve strategy and objectives.Ability to work at a desk for extended periods of time, communicate via telephone, operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse throughout the day.Ability to perform work on nights and weekends, including on-call duties.Ability to travel to the Lexington and Louisville office to support systems and staff.Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects up to approximately 40 lbs. such as computers and peripherals.Reliable attendance.Adhere to all company policies.Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, existing and potential customers.Actively support the KEMI Mission, Vision, Values, and culture.The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
