Job Description:
Manage all aspects of company's computer infrastructure, which encompasses hardware, servers, and virtual machines using a VMware environment. This individual will also configure and control access to networks, manage storage and security setting, participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage all operating systems and end-user software.
  • Manage communications (e-mail, IM, e-fax, video) and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
  • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Check help desk database for entries on server and server resource issues; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.
  • Create shell scripts as required.
  • Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
  • Perform development activities needed to integrate department specific hardware and software with existing network / applications and support end users once on new system.
  • Knowledge of and experience with relational database systems and SQL tools. Knowledge of and experience with the relationship between databases and other software and the interfaces necessary to facilitate a cohesive system.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions to interested parties of varying technical backgrounds.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree- VCP, MCSE certifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of most versions of Microsoft Windows Server up to 2019 as well as VMware/Hyper-V experience in a large environment (at least 200 servers and multiple Silos).
  • 5-7 years technical knowledge installing operating systems, third party software installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • 5-7 years technical knowledge installing, configuring, and documenting hardware implementations.
  • 5-7 years troubleshooting software/application issues with operating systems or third-party products.
  • 5-7 years technical knowledge with security and system implementation following industry standards for UCS blades, Windows, Hyper-V, VMware, Network, Storage, Cloud and Security platforms.
  • 5-7 years technical knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures.
  • Developed analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to take direction and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
