Location: Lansing, MI Type: Contract Job 11523 Salary: $48.24 - $58.05 Per Hour Apply Now System Analyst 5 - Digital Standards Compliance Specialist Overview The Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) at the State of Michigan (SOM) is expanding its eMichigan team within the Center for Shared Solutions (CSS). We are seeking up to 6 full-time System Analysts for a 1-2 year contract, with potential extension, to ensure compliance with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications. These standards encompass branding and digital accessibility. Job Duties Conducting compliance reviews of SOM websites and applications against the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications. This includes: Testing for digital accessibility using manual and automated tools, including screen reader and other assistive technology. Reviewing for adherence to additional standards, including branding. Performing testing on desktop and mobile devices. Documenting review results thoroughly. Providing review results to application support teams and stakeholders, and conducting meetings to explain results. Collaborating closely with eMichigan team members to ensure processes are followed and optimized. Performing other duties as assigned. Education A certificate or degree in any field required, Information Technology (IT) preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of a certificate or degree. Experience Minimum of 1 year of experience in testing applications for digital accessibility (3 years preferred). Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Advanced knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Advanced knowledge of digital accessibility testing methodologies. Advanced skills using assistive technologies, including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, and other assistive technologies. Advanced skills using accessibility evaluation tools and frameworks, including WAVE, Developer Tools, Accessibility Inspector, and other accessibility evaluation tools. Ability to use a variety of desktop and mobile devices and operating systems (OS), such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, Windows, MacBook, iOS, and Android. Ability to prepare detailed written documentation, maintain records, and conduct correspondence related to the work. Ability to communicate technical terminology at a level appropriate to the audience. Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA.
