Overview:
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of our federal government customer, assisting with the digital transformation within classified and unclassified IT systems and networks. You will work with our geographically dispersed team of Engineers, Administrators, Analysts, and Managers to provide effective solutions to complex enterprise IT challenges. You will work directly with the CIO, DCIO, Directors, Enterprise Architect, and our team SMEs to methodically modernize IT infrastructure and business systems while existing operations continue uninterrupted. This role requires a current DOE Q or DOD/DOJ TS clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and configure SCCM infrastructure to meet organizational requirements, including software distribution, patch management, operating system deployment, and inventory management.
- Configure and maintain WSUS for patch management and software update deployments.
- Integrate and manage Intune for mobile device management and modern management capabilities.
- Administer Office 365 services and integrations within SCCM for application deployment and management.
- Manage Active Directory and Azure Active Directory integration with SCCM for user and device management.
- Implement and maintain Group Policy Management for centralized policy administration and deployment.
- Demonstrate expertise in core infrastructure services and functions including ADFS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and LDAP.
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) environments to support SCCM infrastructure.
- Utilize MSSQL and reporting services to generate SCCM reports and analyze system performance.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and enhance SCCM functionalities.
- Manage and maintain SCCM servers, site hierarchy, and client systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop and implement SCCM deployment strategies for software updates, applications, and operating systems across the enterprise.
- Monitor SCCM infrastructure using SCOM to proactively identify and resolve issues, optimize performance, and ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate SCCM with existing systems, processes, and tools for seamless operation and automation.
- Provide technical expertise and support to troubleshoot and resolve SCCM-related incidents, problems, and service requests.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for SCCM configuration, administration, and support.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in SCCM, Windows Core Services, and SCOM to continuously improve infrastructure and processes.
- Mentor and train junior staff members on SCCM administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Recommend technical standards and policies.
- Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot, maintain, and implement hardware and software.
- Analyze and improve system performance and reliability.
- Document and update systems architecture drawings and server rack elevations using Microsoft Visio.
- Conduct risk assessments, account audits, access rights audits and activity audits.
- Develop disaster recovery procedures including implementation of warm site and testing of tier one applications failover.
- Maintain system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, system hardware, installation, firmware patching, and VMware software patching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in SCCM administration and deployment.
- U.S. Citizenship is required per contract. Must have an active DOE Q or TS/SCI clearance.
- Proficiency in managing WSUS, Intune, Active Directory, Office 365, and Group Policy Management.
- Strong knowledge of core infrastructure services and functions such as ADFS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and LDAP.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) administration.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSE: Core Infrastructure or related certifications.
- Experience with SCCM upgrades and migrations.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
