Position: Job Title: System Engineer 1 Client: Southern Company Location: 10986 Hwy 87, Juliette Georgia 31046 Duration: 15 months (with possibilities for extension) Job Summary The System Engineer I will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems within an industrial plant setting. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize plant processes, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure system reliability. The engineer will support a variety of tasks related to system design, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - System Design: Develop and design control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions for plant equipment and processes.
- Integration: Integrate subsystems such as PLCs, SCADA, and DCS to create a cohesive and efficient plant-wide system.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to plant systems, minimizing downtime.
- Process Optimization: Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, proposing improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
- Maintenance: Oversee system maintenance, upgrades, and implement preventive measures.
- Compliance: Ensure that all systems meet safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
Desired Qualifications - Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience: 0-5 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or process engineering.
Skills and Competencies - Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
