Job Description:

Firebird AST is seeking an onsite TS/SCI with CI Poly cleared System Engineer to support a U.S. Government client. This is for a pending contract. Contract award is anticipated to early 2025. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform software design and implementation, following coding guidelines and considering system characteristics to produce optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Conduct software evaluation and testing of own software, software from other engineering staff, and third-party software
  • Provide technical documentation for the design, implementation and testing of the software
  • Attend design review meetings as needed to adhere to the software development procedures
  • Document and repair errors related to software
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops
  • Work with multi-functional project teams to complete Product Engineering projects with minimal guidance
  • Develop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team members
  • Work with source code management tools (e.g. Github) and work tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)
REQUIRED
  • TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
  • Specialized training and bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering (or related field) with 7 years of experience, or 12 years' experience in lieu of degree
  • Database design/operations/maintenance, reverse engineering, data normalization and cleansing, scripting, data analysis and visualization, data security
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and code management tools
PREFERRED
  • Master's Degree
  • Oracle, knowledge of existing BM&A systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, reports, policy, legal documents, etc.
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentations to company management and customer(s).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, strategic and innovative thinker, and passion for the mission.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
CLEARANCE
  • Active DoD Top Secret with CI Poly
