Position Description:

Intelsat is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented intern to join our System Engineering team. You will be responsible for implementing security practices and optimizing our Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of cloud computing, Azure services, and a keen interest in resource management. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Azure cloud technology within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and maintain the implementation of cloud solutions in Azure
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of existing Azure accounts and associated resources and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Design migration strategies, implement security measures and conduct quality checks post-migration to ensure data integrity and accessibility
  • Create automated approaches and scripts for deployment tasks where possible and appropriate
  • Engage in collaborative projects with various departments, gaining exposure to different aspects of the organization's IT landscape

Preferred Qualifications: (in addition to the requirements below)

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of Azure cloud services and infrastructure
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and other networking services: DNS, WINS, DHCP, and routing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
    • Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university; Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
    • May 2025 graduate
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred
  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

Summer Intern Program Description:

  • Paid internship;12 weeks starting on Monday, May 26, 2025 through August 15, 2025
  • Schedule - 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday, 9 - 5 or regular core hours
  • Hybrid environment (minimum 3 days in office location)
