Job Description:

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team of systems engineers in developing, integrating, and certifying advanced hardware and software solutions for aerospace, military, and space applications. This role will oversee systems integration, verification, and lifecycle management, focusing on avionics and flight control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and experience with regulatory compliance and certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Systems Integration & Verification

  • Oversee integration, testing, and verification of avionics and flight control systems, ensuring adherence to lifecycle milestones and technical requirements.

Technical Oversight & Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance to systems engineers, manage team performance, and foster cross-functional collaboration with program management, production, and other departments.

Testing & Validation

  • Ensure rigorous testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC, and environmental validation) to meet aerospace and military standards.

Certification & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage certification processes in compliance with DO-178C, JCAB, FAA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

Configuration & Change Management

  • Lead change management processes, including configuration management and documentation control.

Project Management & Risk Mitigation

  • Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk management practices to manage schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.

Technical Tool Utilization

  • Leverage technical tools like MATLAB and Systems Tool Kit (STK) for modeling, simulation, and analysis in support of systems engineering tasks.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • 10+ years in systems engineering for aerospace or defense applications, including embedded systems.
  • 5+ years in team leadership or management within a matrixed organization.
  • Proven track record of managing systems integration and verification for avionics and flight control systems.

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of avionics systems, flight controls, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with regulatory standards (DO-178C, JCAB, FAA) and certification processes.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, STK, and other technical tools for analysis and simulation.

Project Management

  • Strong experience with EVM, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
