Client System Performance ArchitectResponsible for applied research or advanced engineering in the development of new products, materials, or processes. Responsibilities include the assimilation and understanding of the industry and competitive environment for a given technology or product line, and the derivation of a technology/product strategy from this information. Leads technology investigations, performs a strategic analysis of the industry capabilities, and develops recommendations, which influence the technical product strategy and/or definition of products for a given product line, including evaluation of potential acquisitions and vendor partner opportunities. You will work closely with architects from system, thermal, BIOS, EC, and software teams to focus on maximizing the capabilities of cutting-edge processors and to drive system-level decisions ensuring our mobile devices deliver the best possible performance, power efficiency, and user experience. Here's what we are looking for with this role:Essential RequirementsExtensive knowledge of system and x86 processor architectureStrong understanding of balancing power, thermals, and acoustics to optimize system performance and the user experienceProven track record of evaluating the performance impact of new hardware, firmware, and/or software features and providing guidance on trade-offsExperience working with major silicon vendors and leveraging their latest technologiesWork independently and thrive in a collaborative, multi-functional team environmentDesirable RequirementsBS in Computer Engineering or similar field with 7-10+ years of experience. Graduate degree is a plusExperience with defining and implementing policies into ML algorithms for dynamic system performance optimizationCompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
